Happy Fall Equinox to all!
I am pleased to present a deep and hazy mix of some of my favorite dub-techno classics. Thanks to the cool Self-Titled online magazine for sharing my mix! The mix was put together in Ableton Live 7, with most of the tracks ripped from vinyl, and a couple of the newer tracks bought online in WAV format from Beatport, and features live dub FX and delay manipulations by yours truly. Oh yeah, the Bluetrain track is B2 from “Factory Dubs” ‘00!

My CD “144 Pulsations Of Light”, which is more in the drone-ambient territory rather than dub-techno, is out on Kranky on Oct. 5th! Here is the All-Music Review, featuring short clips of each track!

I decided to redesign my websites with a minimal, clean look for the summer. I have been busy getting into grad school and writing reviews for my music blog almost every day. I am happy to announce an official release date of October 5th for my CD, on the fantastic Kranky label, and I’ll share more details as the date gets closer!
I’ve been working on music fairly constantly, alternating mainly between long textural drone ambient pieces and more melodic loop-oriented, slightly IDM-tinged shorter pieces. I’ve also developed several laptop “performance environments” that I can play live for long periods of time, so I’m hoping I’ll have a chance to start playing shows in the next few months. NI Absynth 4 never ceases to amaze me, and I have been taking my minidisc recorder with me on hikes on Mt. Shasta regularly. The stillness in the air at 7,000 feet above sea level is amazing, and I enjoy sitting quietly and just listening.
Since today is the Summer Solstice, I made several recordings to capture the solar energy. Here is one:

I’ve started a new blog for a series of short music reviews I’ve been writing about my favorite records and labels. Please add it to your bookmarks and check back regularly!

I also realized I forgot to post here that I had a track on the Japanese netlabel Bump Foot’s 100th Release Compilation! It is an ambient house track created entirely with Jeskola Buzz last Fall. My contribution is called “Magnetic” and is track 5 on disc 1.
